Peter Li, BIPH

In death’s embrace, no unity we find,

But solitude, a vast expanse unkind.

“We brethren are,” the echo sighs,

We’re all alone, where darkness lies.

No shared purpose in this final flight,

But solitary paths in endless night.

There are no talks, no gentle exchange,

But just in deaths’ vast, and empty range.

“And so, as kinsmen, met in the Night——

We talked between carriages,” ——a fleeting sight.

But in death’s realm, no unity does reside,

Only lonely souls, forever to abide.
