My head hits the ground

Feel the cool, soft grass

Wet from autumn's rain

And the noble bloodshed

Of heroes

But I am not one of them

The heavens gaze down at me

Full of guilt,

Full of pity,

Full of sorrow

Sympathy for my suffering

Dismay

at man's destruction

Towards a beautifully constructed Earth

Once

Full of life

Full of hope

Full of harmony

Untouched and clean

I stare into the clouds

Clear, pure, ignorant to the crimes of mankind

They fill my vision, enveloping me in their gentle embrace

Through the haze, I make out

Rolling mountains

A sparkling, running river

Evergreen trees

All too flawless for this world

I let myself go

Let my eyes drift into the clouds

Let my wounds be cleansed by the river

Let my heart be mended by nature.
